This revelation became the very foundation for her book, Team Us.

For over a decade, her cousin’s words, “Writing is your primary language,” echoed in her mind, and when the moment came, they guided her to fully embrace her path as a writer. Drawing on her rich life experiences and academic background in ministry, counseling, and psychology, Dr. Marcia crafted a narrative that challenges outdated beliefs and champions emotional authenticity.

Dr. Marcia, a native of Alabama, embodies the resilience and strength instilled in her through her upbringing. Raised by her single mother, Dr. Marilyn Nicholson, Dr. Marcia credits her mother as the unwavering source of support and motivation in her life. Dr. Nicholson played a pivotal role as Dr. Marcia’s biggest advocate, fueling her ambition and determination and ultimately shaping her perspective on life.

Marcus Redmon, Dr. Marcia’s twin brother and genuine sports enthusiast, instilled in her a love of football, which inspired her to write this book. Marcus introduced their family to the football world, uniting them in their shared passion for the game. This experience gave Dr. Marcia a lens through which to view and understand relationships.

Dr. Marcia’s academic path brought her to Liberty University, where she thrived in her pursuit of master’s and doctoral degrees. She has a strong focus on ministry, counseling, and psychology. These fields have greatly influenced her understanding of relationships. As a result, she possesses a distinctive combination of spiritual wisdom and psychological expertise.
